Our Annual Native Plant Sale is just around the corner!! Mark your calendars! The sale is on Saturday, September 10th and goes from 9-11a.m. at the White Mountain Research Station, 3000 E. Line St. in Bishop. Plant prices range from $3.50 for a 22 oz cup to $5.00 for a small tree pot and $8.00 for gallon pots.

Saddlebag Lake Field Trip this Saturday, 8/20!
This will be a backcountry hike from the parking lot at Saddlebag Lake. The trail around Saddlebag Lake is well maintained and the views of the back side of Yosemite are at the very least spectacular.

The wildflowers (and mosquitoes) are out in the Sierra - hiked up past Long Lake last Wednesday - still some large snow fields higher up (11,000' and above) but many flowers from the trailhead on up to that point. And the mosquitoes weren't a problem once we reached Long Lake - just in the forest below. At least as long as there was a breeze.

All I have are some not so great photos of shooting stars so far. Owens Lake posted a great flower shot! Let's see some more! I know there are much better photographers than me out there hiking and looking at flowers, so I'm throwing down the gauntlet! I hereby challenge you all to a wildflower shoot out!! :)

Last week I saw shooting stars at the trailhead, and this week looks like there are more things in bloom - we should have a great, if slightly late, mountain spring!
